I asked our officer candidates to tell us a little bit about themselves, so you can get to know them even better. Here’s what they shared.
Terry Cheney attended the University of Michigan. It was there he met his wife, Barbara. They were married on August 4, 1973. They have two adult children, Christopher and Bryan. Terry is currently employed as a Quality Management Specialist with Computer Sciences Corporation. He was a former pilot/flight instructor for Lufthansa Airline Training Center in AZ. Terry became a Christian in 1985 and moved to White Bluff, TN, ten years later. He and Barbara were charter members of Parish Presbyterian Church and accepted the call to plant Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in 2011. Terry is an avid runner, 4 full marathons and counting! In addition to running, Terry enjoys reading, playing golf, and competition shooting.
Kevin McClung was born August 14, 1964, in Washington, DC, but grew up down the street in Annandale, VA. He professed faith in Christ at twelve years of age. He attended Virginia Military Institute Class of ’87 where he majored in Economics. He married Holly Ellis on May 13, 2000. They have been blessed with three children: Claire (10) Annabelle (6) and Asher (4). Kevin is a lover of music, an accomplished banjo player, and a songwriter. He also has the privilege of homeschooling his three children.
Clint Branch and his wife, Gwen, have been married for twenty-four years. They have four children: Taylor (21), Elizabeth (17), Amelia (9), and Lily (7). Clint graduated with an MBA from Belhaven University in Jackson, MS. Clint was raised in a Christian, Southern Baptist home, but came to the realization of his salvation and the reformed faith in 1999. Clint is currently the Executive Director of Operations at Clearwire, a mobile wireless company. He enjoys time with his family, running, and SEC football (Go, Rebels!) in his free time.
Larry Thompson was a believer since earliest memories. He is husband to Lynda; they have been married for forty-two years. He is the father of three adult children with three great daughter/sons-in-law, and grandfather to six grandchildren. He and Lynda moved to Franklin from Memphis five years ago and attended Parish Presbyterian Church but joined Cornerstone Presbyterian at the time of the plant. He worked for Memphis Light Gas and Water for thirty-five years prior to retirement. Larry’s avocation for many years was coaching youth sports.
